25 Things About Me

Kelly recently posted a "25 Things About Me" list on Facebook. Since I already posted a similar list a couple of years ago (I'd dig up the link, but I basically wrote it as a way to hit on She Who Shall Not Be Named, so it's kinda painful to revisit. Go to my Facebook page and search for it if you're interested.), I decline to post another list there.

However, since I need something to write about here, I thought I'd take Kelly's list as a template for a further list.

P.S. I'd give you a link to Kelly's list on Facebook, but since I'm guessing a large percentage of the people who read this blog is Kelly, it's probably redundant.

1) I have no tattoos, but I do have an unformed third nipple.

2) My favorite show currently on the air is probably still the Office (although I think Community is going to give it a run for it's money); my favorite show ever is probably Saturday Night's Main Event.

3) I have a list of about two dozen DVDs I've purchased but never watched (or all of.)

4) The last DVD I bought was Ricky Steamboat: The Life Story of the Dragon.

5) My favorite movie ever is Gettysburg. The best movie I've ever seen is probably The Wrestler.

6) I usually read two books at a time, one to review for Shelf Life and another just for pleasure.

7) I am excited to go to Toronto on Tuesday, because I get to see Lyz and go to the Jays-Yankees game.

8) I'm not sure I want kids, but I'd like to be in a position where making a decision one way or the other was an option.

9) At work, I'm the guy my co-workers ask to look up stuff on Wikipedia. I'm guessing I will some day get in sh!t for that.

10) I have had to warn people about not making me talk about wrestling, because I'm pretty sure I could take a question like "Does Hulk Hogan still wrestle?" and talk for like an hour straight and include a discussion of the history of ECW, Wrestlemania IX's main event between Bret Hart and Yokozuna, and the current Roger Clemens steroid scandal.

11) I'm 41 years old and yet, I still kinda want to see the Smurfs movie when it comes out. (Although I was more excited when it was rumoured Quentin Tarantino was going to voice Brainy!)

12) My favorite book ever is Have A Nice Day by Mick Foley. A cliche I know, but he talked about so much of what I remember watching.

13) I worked in retail from 1991-2006 (with a few minor breaks in between) and so I think I'm always going to have a retail-mindset. In my current job, that sometimes can be a hinderence.

14) I don't know that I'd want to live in a big city. I kinda like living where I do know, where it's pretty quiet but it's just a 15 minute drive into London for groceries, book stores, Future Shop, etc.

15) I think when Kelly goes to Italy, I'm going to ask if I can tag along. For the most part, I'm more of a North American tourist.

16) I'm the opposite of Kelly in that the older I get, the less I really do for my birthday.

17) I would rather be completely gray than have the receeding hairline that I do. (I'm actually tempted to get my hair cut really, really short...like buzzcut short.).

18) Whenever I go into any store (variety/convenience store, grocery store, book store, etc.) I always check out the magazine section...usually for Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, WWE Magazine, etc.

19) I am kind of on the fence, politically. I'm liberal in some ways, conservative in others. (I mean, we need to adapt new thinking and ways of doing things, but don't tear something down just for the sake of tearing it down.)

20) There's somebody in my past who I really can't like at this point but I still worry about.

21) I used to say "Interestingly enough" a lot but then a friend of mine called me on it, so I don't use it anymore. Interestling enough, however, I have a co-worker who says it all the time. (Not that it matters to me, but I'm like "Oh man, Jay would be making fun of her for that.)

22) Even though my job is far from perfect, I'm very proud to work in the industry I do.

23) One of the things I'm most proud of is the work I did at Your Village News. We weren't the New York Times or even the London Free Press, but I took a lot of pride in how much ambition and drive I had working there. Heck, if I ever resembled a work-a-holic, it was then.

24) I tend to latch on to a favourite food and then eat them until I'm sick of it. For example: for months, I used to get fish on Friday at the cafeteria every week...but lately, I'll be like "Ugh! Can't stand the thought of fish today." (Although I did have it this past Friday.)

25) I really wanted to have #25 be something impactful...but I couldn't think of anything...Honestly, I had about three things but none really won out!

  1. I would post a twenty-five things about me blog, but i only seem to do twitter these days... hmm... actually, I would absolutely bet that twenty-five things about me could be summed up in 140 characters!
