No really, go ahead, I'll wait..
Okay, so back to the live action...
This was just too good to pass up...
News Item:Vancouver police are searching for missing actor Andrew Koenig, best known for his role as Richard “Boner” Stabone in the 1980s sitcom “Growing Pains.”
How long before Alan Thicke issues a desperate plea for someone to help him find his beloved "Boner"?
As Jim Dales would say "Oh, I'mma gonna go to hell when I die!"
And as I say "I'm already going there (and I would argue I've already been there a couple of times) so one stupid joke ain't gonna hurt!
Okay once the groans (or should I say "Groaning Pains"?)have subsided, I will tell you a bit about what I did this weekend, which doesn't seem like a lot but...
(1) I have almost completed the February update for Shelf Life. ETA on that will hopefully be tomorrow night.
(2) I finished Mars Life but have yet to write my review for it. The Coles Notes version is that it was a lot better than I expected. I really got caught up with the plot and characters, so it's definitely recommended if you like sci-fi. With about 25 pages to go, I was expecting it to be the first of a series but it's self-contained.
I'm reading a book about Abraham Lincoln As Statesman next. I also finished (or rather, gave up on Douglas Coupland's Generation A. It turns into just a way for Coupland to publish a bunch of very short stories as a novel.
(3) I watched NASCAR on Fox. I forget the name of the race but it was from California. Jimmy Johnson won handidly. It looked like Kevin Harvick was going to make a charge with about 5-6 laps to go but he slid up against the wall and was never able to regain the ground.
(4) I ended up not watching the Canada-US Olympic hockey game, save for about 5 seconds as the U.S. scored its 5th goal of the game, with about 45 seconds left in the 3rd period. Instead I watched The Hurt Locker. It was quite a well-done movie from a cinematography point of view. Plot-wise it was exceptional, because it really went against a lot of conventions. I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it (Kelly, we will chat about this Monday night) but there were a couple of plot points I was expecting to come to fruition and none of them happened, which made for a much more interesting movie. I haven't seen Avatar or District 9 (I may watch the latter some time this week) but I'm voting for the Hurt Locker for Best Picture at this point.
(5) Speaking of California (in #3), I've been listening to "Dani California" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers a lot over the last couple of days.
(6) The sun was out for much of the day, so I decided to get outside and go for a walk around Thamesford. Of course, during the time I went for my walk it clouded over, but I still got some decent shots of the park and river near my place. I posted them on Facebook.

I've been following your blog for some time, and I got quite excited when you started to update your blog daily! I've been logging on multiple times a day, this past week, for an update, so I thought it best that I post a comment. I hope all is well, seeing as how there has been no update. So, it looks like you owe us 2 personal tidbits, since you have a vote and a comment!! Hope it's on your "To Do List" to blog soon!!

Dear Tammy,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment. All is indeed well. I just didn't have too much to blog for much of this past week, save watching Olympic Hockey. I will be blogging later today, however. (I still have to figure out what 2 tidbits I will be revealing!)
I must say, I was pleasantly suprised by your comment. To the best of my knowledge, I don't know a Tammy or a TW and up until today, I figured I knew all four people who read my blog. How did you stumble upon this particular portion of the Internet?
