This morning, I heard that Joe Strangio, a long-time employee of GDLS-C, had passed away.
Joe was a good man, the likes the world can't afford to lose. Whenever work took me by his area of the plant, or if I ran into him somewhere, he always smiled and said "Hi" and asked me how I was doing. I suppose my typical conversation with Joe lasted less than a couple of minutes, but it somehow managed to brighten my day just a little bit. I think if you asked most people who knew Joe, they'd say the same thing.
Joe was one of those guys for whom work wasn't just somewhere he showed up to. He was always looking to make our plant a better place, being involved in several committees. But really, one could argue he succeeded, just by being himself.
I'll miss Joe. Not for just what he tried to do but what he did without trying.
